Phil's Background

Meridian Township Resident for Over 25 Years

For over 25 years Phil has lived in and been an active resident of Meridian 

Township. 

Phil and his wife Gail live in Okemos in the Cornell Woods Subdivision.  Gail is a lifelong educator and a counselor at Leslie High School.  

Phil raised his family here and all three of his children, Marianne (2004), Philip (2005), and Elizabeth (2009), graduated from Haslett High School.

Phil grew up in Waterford Township (Oakland County), Michigan.  His parents, Paul and Ellen, were active members of the Waterford community and St. Benedict's Parish in Pontiac.  Phil was a member of Boy Scout Troop 8 and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Since taking office in 2016,  Phil has taken several courses in Township Governance through the Michigan Township's Association (MTA) and the  Michigan Government Finance Officers Association (MGFOA).  These courses include:
